- The name Ronjab is a combination of the words "run" and "jab," as well as a slight allusion to boxer Ron Lyle.
- The name Thoxicon is a combination of "toxic" and "sock" (as in, to hit forcefully), ending with -on, which in itself has vague meaning, and can be taken to mean "on top of," as in a wrestling match.
- Spindlewe and its evolutions were among of the first Nornova Pokemon designed.
